The future holds infinite possibilities, and authors all around the world have written wondrous stories set in the futures they imagine.

One of our bonus themes this year is a story set in the future - anything from the vast world of speculative fiction set in an imagined future anywhere in the universe.

Recommendations:

Station Eleven A pandemic destroys the world, leaving behind only a few survivors in a dystopian, but hopeful future. Was written much before covid struck and is about to be made into a series very soon!

All Systems Red First book of the Murderbot series, set in the future where space travel is the norm and robots co-habit the universe with human beings. The protagonist is a sarcastic robot addicted to soap operas. Quite funny and witty, also a short read.

V for Vendetta Graphic novel, set in the future, in a dystopian England. Quite a political book, very relevant even today. A frightening and powerful tale of the loss of freedom and identity in a chillingly believable totalitarian world, V for Vendetta stands as one of the highest achievements of the comics medium and a defining work for creators Alan Moore and David Lloyd.
